Governments hosting international events to promote tourism helps them to growth its economy and to get know by the world.

          Hosting international events is beneficial for countries because it helps them to increase their economic growth. And It also helps local cultures to get well-know, making people know about them, and to preserve its culture.

             Countries that organized big events such as "copa america" or the "olympic games" helps the country to increase their economy growth. When people go to these events, they start  wasting their money buying souvenirs, gifts, etc. helping the country to doesn't  loose the economic cycle. This cycle is very important due to is the base for the country being stable. Tourism is a very important factor that helps the country to be stable in economic terms.

        

             In addition to this, the boost of tourism will help local cultures to get known, and to make the country connected to the world. There are some cultures that are not known, they are dying slowly, and is totally sad because we are not going to know about their culture, For example, in Chile some cultures disappear or some of them are getting smaller in number, and there are a huge number of children that don't know about them, or they only know about them through books, videos, etc. Tourism will help these local cultures besides to preserve their culture, it will make people know about those cultures, also about the country itself.

          The activity of visiting countries and to know some local cultures host the country's' economy,  helps the country to have an important space in the world, and to keep the culture through the time.

Tourism is harmful to the environment

          Many people probably think that tourism is a good way to support the country's economy, but none all of us know that tourism has many environmental impacts that are harmful for our natural environment.

          Tourism can be entertaining, and you can have a nice leisure time with your family, but while we are having are having fun, nature not, due to the fact that tourism elicit depletion of natural resources. First, water is one of the most critical resources, tourism indiscriminate use this natural resources. Second, tourism incite land degradation. Consequently, the construction of builts environment causes that land resources such as minerals, fossil fuels, fertile soil, etc. disappear. This activity can be beneficial for something, but is harmful for natural environment.

          Tourism can affect in a positive and negative way local cultures. A positive way would be that many local cultures are known nowadays, and people can know and learn about those cultures, as well as tourism helps to preserve these cultures, Nonetheless, tourism also affects these cultures due to the lose of their identity, values because of several other cultures influences. This means that local cultures can lose their language or some of their activities that represents their culture. For example, some cultures lost natural techniques to cure diseases, etc.

          To conclude, tourism can be harmful to the environment in terms of the indiscriminate use of natural resources. Furthermore, tourism can affect in a positive and negative way local cultures by helping them to become well-known, or losing  their identities.
